Orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry can involve some big changes, so naturally you’re going to have lots of questions about your treatment.  Here’s our pick of some of the weird and wonderful questions we get asked almost every day!

Will my new braces affect the way I kiss?

This is a really common question, and one many people are too embarrassed to ask!  However, we can reassure you now; no, you will notice no difference while wearing either fixed or removable braces – you will still be able to kiss with confidence.

How can I pay for treatment?

We have a number of flexible fee options – so you can choose one to suit you.  We’ve also recently introduced a new finance agreement option through which you can spread payments over 10 months interest-free.  It’s really easy to set up and it makes it easier than ever to get the treatment you desire.

How long will it take?

There are no easy answers to this question – so beware dentists who give you one.  It’s only after a detailed consultation to assess your teeth, mouth, treatment goals, treatment preferences and lifestyle that we can make an informed estimate of the length of time your treatment will take.  However, once we do give you personalised information about the likely treatment duration, you know that our results are highly predictable.

How do I know what treatment is right for me?

We’ll talk you through all the options during our initial consultation appointment with you – we aim for you to leave this session with a great overview of all your options.  When you come back in to see us on your second appointment, we’ll talk you through any additional questions you may have before you can make a final – and informed – decision.

Will I have to change what I eat?

Probably not, although this will depend on the treatment you have.  Even with our brace treatments, the answer to this question can differ.  For example, if you choose ceramic fixed braces, you may wish to avoid red wine, curries, tea and coffee.  However, even if you eat these foods, discolouration is rarely severe and bands are changed regularly enough for this not to become a problem.  If you choose one of our removable aligners, of course, this is not an issue at all; you simply remove your brace when eating.
