Dr Akram qualified from King’s College London with distinction in her undergraduate degree. She went on to complete her vocational training within the much sought after London deanery, after ranking first place in the short-listing process.
Having spent a year in practice she decided to embark on a year as a senior house officer in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Her time was divided between UCLH, Eastman Dental Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital, where she gained extraordinary experience in the management of head and neck trauma, oncology, facial pain clinics, oral medicine as well as complex surgical cases.
During her time in hospital she completed a diploma for the prestigious Membership of The Joint Dental Faculties of The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
She has a keen interest in research and publications and during her time in hospital, she was involved in numerous research projects and publications, particularly in the area of photodynamic therapy for the management of advanced head and neck cancers.
Sarah commenced her specialist training in Orthodontics at Guy’s Hospital and Kingston Hospital whilst simultaneously completing her masters of science. Her MSc thesis was completed in the area on 3D imaging and its application in modern day Orthodontics.
She brings knowledge and enthusiasm aspect to the mature orthodontic team at elleven. She leads the team on Saturdays and enjoys working and planning treatment for children as well as adults required a multitude of invisible orthodontic care coupled with cosmetic and periodontal treatment planning.
