Facial aesthetics, otherwise known as facial rejuvenation covers a range of non-surgical treatments from skin boosters, muscle relaxant injections and dermal filler treatments to reduce lines and combat volume loss. Treatments are often combined to achieve the ideal results and may be spread across several sessions.  Our goal is to biomimicry, enhancing natural beauty and creating a more youthful version of oneself.

Your facial aesthetic journey starts with a consultation where we gain an understanding of your priorities and what treatments you may have undertaken in the past. A full medical history will be taken as well as photographs and face and muscle mapping. Your clinician will assess your skin condition, dynamic and static wrinkles, volume loss and any asymmetries that may be present. Following this consultation, a tailored treatment plan will be formulated and presented to you.

Facial Aesthetics for lines and wrinkles

As we age, wrinkles start to appear. Initially on our foreheads, but later around the eyes, cheeks, lips, and neck. Wrinkles are a normal part of ageing but these often appear too soon and our faces can begin to look tired, sad, and angry. Our clinicians understand that lines and wrinkles can make us look a lot older than we actually are or feel. As part of our facially driven multidisciplinary care at E11even Dental, we use facial aesthetic treatments like muscle relaxing injections, to reduce the appearance of those wrinkles. Repeat treatments will likely be recommended at varying frequency to achieve natural and optimal results.

Facial Aesthetic Treatments for the relaxation of muscles causing clenching, bruxism, and headaches

Muscle relaxant injections are more frequently prescribed to assist in the management of pain from tooth grinding and clenching. When specific muscles are targeted botulinum toxin helps to quickly reduce the forces placed on teeth and both protect them from wear and also reduce the discomfort and tension from the hyperactive muscles. The aim of treatment is to reduce pain, improve jaw function, and when combined with a well-fitting night guard induce a behavioural change to reduce parafunctional activity.

During an assessment appointment, a clinician will confirm if you are suitable for treatment of this area. A course of treatments over 9 months is usually recommended and improvement is usually experienced within a few days.

Facial Aesthetic Treatments for gummy smiles

For an aesthetic youthful smile, females generally show 1-2mm of gum on smiling. A gummy smile is classed as more than 3mm of gum on display. There are a wide number of reasons why patients may have a gummy smile, including:

  • A short upper lip
  • Long upper jaw – maxillary excess
  • Excess gum
  • Short teeth
  • Swollen gums

Aside from jaw surgery to impact the upper jaw or lengthen the lip, another way to reduce a gummy smile is to use facial aesthetic treatments. This involves muscle relaxing injections that are carefully placed into the top lip, relaxing it and preventing it from exposing too much gum when smiling.

At a consultation appointment, you will be assessed on the cause of your gummy smile and whether lip stabilisation treatment or what is commonly referred to as a “lip flip”, for relaxing tightly strapped elevator muscles, can be recommended.

Facial Aesthetic Treatments for better skin

We are proud to be at the forefront of skin booster treatment offering both Profhilo and Sunekos treatments. More than simply “injectable moisturisers” these treatments involve placing small amounts of hyaluronic acid into the subcutaneous tissue in areas of the face and body to improve skin texture, and elasticity and provide intense hydration. Both Profhilo and Sunekos have multi-level bio-remodelling effects through collagen activation and improvement of the biosynthesis of collagen. Combined with the high water binding capacity of hyaluronic acid within 24 hours fine lines and wrinkles are reduced, skin surface feels smooth and the skin is more luminous. Both Profhilo and Sunekos require an initial course of 2-3 sessions and it is recommended that treatment is repeated at appropriate intervals for maximum results.

Facial Aesthetic Treatments for Volume replacement using Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers are used to augment and volumize soft tissues, most notably in cheeks and lips, but can be used elsewhere in the temples, chin, jaw, and tear trough, to achieve symmetry and balance to the face. A cross-linked soft gel-like Hyaluronic Acid is injected into treatment areas requiring volume, and this gives structure and the appearance of a lift, to create contours or softening to the face where required. Results are seen immediately, with full effect after 6 weeks. Following dermal filler treatment skin will look better, hydrated, and fuller. Often combined with other facial aesthetic treatments we recommend all patients considering dermal fillers to attend for a consultation and facial mapping. At this appointment, our clinicians will advise on the ideal products and timing for your treatment and any anticipated downtime you may experience following treatment.
